Downtown is not only the economic and governmental center of our community, it’s also a great setting for people to come together and visit, play, and celebrate.  Greensburg has a number of wonderful events that take place on and around the square that give locals and visitors a chance to come out and enjoy our county seat.  Here are a few:

The Greensburg/Decatur County Farmers’ Market-  On Fridays during the summer vendors from all over the area come set-up on the courthouse and sell everything from fresh flowers to buffalo meat.  Located on the courthouse lawn, the market runs from spring to fall (see the “Events Calendar” for actual dates).   Come out to shop, visit, and take in the summer day.

The Downtown Greensburg Second Fridays-  On Fridays during the summer vendors from all over the area come set-up on the courthouse and sell everything from fresh flowers to buffalo meat.  Located on the courthouse lawn, the market runs from spring to fall (see the “Events Calendar” for actual dates).   Come out to shop, visit, and take in the summer day.

The Fourth of July Parade-  Started by a mother and a few kids from the neighborhood, the Fourth of July Parade has grown to be a summer tradition.  Now organized by the Tri-Kappa Sorority, the parade continues to grow each year, drawing local groups and families to take part in this downtown institution.  Hundreds line the streets and walk/ride/march in the festivities, and we hope you can join us.

The Tree City Fall Festival-  Good wholesome family fun, the Tree City Fall Festival includes a parade, numerous concerts and events  throughout the weekend, and a number of vendors all set-up on the Courthouse Lawn and surrounding area.  Come experience a Greensburg tradition going on 30 years, held annually the third weekend in September.
